I am a full-stack web developer. I built this website to display my personal programming projects and other coding experiments. I enjoy creating software that meets people's needs while keeping it as simple, efficient, user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing as possible. Feel free to check out some of my work.
I'm passionate about my family, pro sports, politics, space & science & tech, and making great software. I'm a "math guy" who appreciates data-based journalism (such as the work at fivethirtyeight.com ). I enjoy Star Trek, classic rock, Phineas & Ferb and hobby programming.
I live in Forest Grove, Oregon, with my wife and our two kids. I'm originally from Sheridan, Wyoming, nestled at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains (pictured above; photo credit: me). I graduated from the University of Wyoming and worked for almost a decade as a reporter for the Casper Star-Tribune, where I met my beautiful bride. We both changed jobs, got married, had a son, then moved to the Portland area, at which time I went back to school to become a computer programmer. And we had a daughter.
